That's What Jesus Is For
Written by Justine Nagawa
In life, we all face times of hardship, disappointment, and uncertainty. Sometimes, we feel overwhelmed by our struggles or weighed down by guilt and brokenness. During these moments, it's easy to feel alone or lost. But I want to remind you of a truth that has brought me hope and comfort lately: "That's what Jesus is for."
Jesus came into this world not to condemn us, but to save us. In Luke 19:10, Jesus Himself says, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." No matter how far you feel from God or how heavy your burdens are, Jesus is actively seeking you out with love and compassion every day. His purpose is clear: to rescue us from our sins and restore us to a relationship with God.
One of the most powerful reasons to trust Jesus is His sacrifice on the cross. In John 3:16, we read, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." That love is for you personally. Jesus' death was not just an event in history; it was a demonstration of God's deep love and willingness to pay the price for our freedom. When I remember this, I am reminded that I am never beyond His reach and that His love covers all my mistakes.
But Jesus isn’t only about salvation—He’s also our comforter and guide. When life feels heavy, and we don’t know where to turn, Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." I’ve experienced His peace during my most difficult moments, and I want you to know that you can too. Jesus understands your pain and is always ready to carry your burdens if you let Him.
His life also teaches us how to live with love, kindness, and integrity. Through His words and actions, Jesus shows us how to extend grace to others and forgive those who have hurt us. His example encourages us to be a source of hope and encouragement to those around us, just as He has been to us.
Remember, Jesus’ purpose is rooted in love—God’s love for you and for me. No matter what you’re facing today, He is for you. His mission is to save, forgive, heal, and restore. Embracing this truth can give you strength, peace, and confidence that you are never alone.
So, whenever life feels overwhelming, remind yourself: "That’s what Jesus is for." He is your Savior, your comforter, and your guide. Trust in His love and let Him renew your hope today.
