God’s Miracles Still Happen Today!
Written by Justine Nagawa
God still works miracles today, both in dramatic moments and in the quiet places of the heart. Scripture reminds believers that the God who performed wonders in the past is the same God who moves in power now. Hebrews 13:8
Recently at my church, I listened to a powerful testimony from a mother who was involved in a serious accident with her fourteen year old son and one year old daughter. In the chaos of the crash, her baby lost consciousness and stopped breathing, and she cried out in desperation, “My baby is not breathing; someone please help me!” As she wept, a few friends from church who were nearby rushed to her side, and while people tried to organize transport to the hospital, the group began to pray with urgency and faith in a situation where only God could intervene. She and her children were placed in a car, surrounded by believers lifting up fervent prayers over them as they drove. Then, suddenly, the baby started breathing again, and the mother shouted with joy, “She’s breathing, my baby is breathing!” When they arrived at the hospital and the doctors examined the child, they found her in perfect health, with no damage and no complications. This was nothing short of a miracle from God, a powerful reminder that the Lord who “performs miracles” and displays His power among His people is still moving today.
Friends, in a world filled with noise, uncertainty, and constant challenges, it can be easy to think that miracles belong only to the pages of Scripture—stories from long ago when God parted seas, raised the dead, and spoke through burning bushes. Yet the Bible teaches that miracles are acts of divine power meant to reveal God’s glory, strengthen faith, and show that He is present with His people. Scripture declares that God is the One “who works wonders” and makes His mighty power known among the nations, reminding believers that His supernatural activity did not end with the last page of the Bible.
Miracles today may not always look like dramatic signs, but they are no less divine. They appear in the healing of bodies when doctors have no explanation, in protection from accidents that should have destroyed lives, and in the restoration of relationships that seemed beyond repair. The same Jesus who once calmed storms and opened blind eyes is described as “the same yesterday and today and forever,” assuring believers that His power and compassion have not changed.
Beyond physical miracles, one of the greatest works God does is the transformation of the human heart. Scripture teaches that salvation itself is a miracle, as God takes a sinner, forgives sin, grants new life, and adopts that person as His child through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
God’s Spirit is still renewing minds, guiding decisions, and revealing His love. Just as the early church saw “extraordinary miracles” done by God through His people, believers today can recognize His handiwork in spiritual growth, restored joy, and newfound freedom.
Miracles are not just stories from long ago; they are living evidence that God is alive, present, and faithful today. The greatest miracle of all is that He chooses to walk with His people day by day, pouring out love in ways they can see, feel, and proclaim to others.
If there is a miracle you need from God—healing, provision, restoration, salvation—bring it before Him in faith, trusting that nothing is impossible for Him. Ask, believe, and hold onto the promise that the God who performed wonders in Scripture is the same God who is able to move in your life today.
